VOLUNTEER SCHOLARSHIP - Criteria for Selection:
Applicant must be female
Applicant must be a senior graduating from a Fort Bend County public or private high school.
Applicant must submit an essay.
Applicant must have at least a 2.5 grade point average.
Applicant must have completed at least 100 hours of service to the community or volunteer service performed through school activities, excluding any service performed as a requirement for school or church.
Applicant must submit a Supervisor Recommendation Form.
Applicant must submit a copy of a high school transcript.
Applicant must plan to attend an accredited two or four year college or university

NEW BEGINNINGS SCHOLARSHIP: Criteria for Selection:
Applicant must be female who has had a break or interruption in her education
Applicant must be a resident of Fort Bend County
Applicant must be currently enrolled or accepted into two or four year college or university or an accredited vocational school which has been approved and accredited by the State of Texas. Transcript must be submitted with application. If accepted but have not begun work toward degree, applicant should submit letter of acceptance.
Applicant must have financial need, as interpreted by the Beneficiary Review Committee; two letters of recommendation (from non family members) and submit an essay

Provides basic needs, family counseling services, adoption, immigration legal services

Assists low income Fort Bend County residents obtain a volunteer lawyer to assist with civil matters

Helps economically disadvantaged elementary students to succeed in school through tutoring, homework assistance and parental support

Execution of mentoring programs, including both community-based and school-based programs. Children with a Big Brother or Big Sister are more likely to graduate from high school, less likely to begin using drugs, begin using alcohol or engage in negative conflict.

WCJC ABE conducts Adult Basic Education and Adult Secondary classes throughout Fort Bend, Colorado Matagorda, and Wharton counties. Our program delivers instruction for GED preparation; improves basic academic skills such as reading, math, and writing; and develops speaking and writing communication skills for ESL students. WCJC Adult Basic Education offers courses during the day and evenings to accommodate busy schedules. All instructional services, including books, are free.

We provide prom dresses and tuxedos to area high school seniors who might otherwise miss the experience of attending their prom due to financial constraints. We provide memories!

The main roles of the volunteer Sponsor (mentor) is to be the communication link between the steering committee and the student, and to encourage and support the student so that they may have an enjoyable prom experience.

We bring children in crisis together with "Horses as Healers" to bring hope for a brighter future, healing and a sense of purpose to the children we serve.

Lifeway provides increasingly efficient techniques for intervention, education, and suport to thousands of families suffering from substance abuse. These techniques include Alternative Peer Groups, Integrated Outpatient Clinical Services, Therapeutic Support Groups, Three Oaks Academy (Alternative Sober School), social functions, guide families, Coordination with Residential and/or legal services, community education and support.
